Frankie's Friends helped Bernie Bumblebee receive orthopedic surgery so she can live a pain free life.
“Bernie Bumblebee joined our family during a time when I was deathly ill and uncertain whether I would survive. She quickly became my most faithful companion and protector, as I endured multiple surgeries and challenges over the next few years... staying by my side through intense illnesses, heartbreaking life changes, tragic losses, and the sudden and abusive end to a three decade marriage. To say that she was a deep comfort to me through hell and back is definitely an understatement. She was a Godsend. Her love, loyalty, and affection were a lifeline that kept me alive and helped me get through even the most hopeless times, despite everything going so wrong for so long. Her playful, joyful, earnest personality brought smiles to my face and laughter to my days, sometimes even through the tears. Her pure love, sweet heart, and constant, devoted presence were a deep solace to me and helped me focus on what truly mattered in life. To say that I would not be alive today if not for my beloved little mutt Bernie is no exaggeration. She saved my life more than once, and in times of great uncertainty and struggle, she was a steady, comforting presence. She still is, every day. To say thank you for helping her get the surgery that she so desperately needed to be able to live and play without pain again does not suffice to express how deeply grateful I am for your kindness and help. They say that all dogs are therapy dogs for someone, and when it comes to Bernie Bumblebee, that is quite true.
