Frankie’s Friends helped Stella receive surgery to remove a bleeding mass.
“Stella came into my life when I was diagnosed. Our older dog Orion was 17 years old and started having seizures. I knew we were in the last stages of his life. I wanted a dog to lay with me and watch Netflix because I was just diagnosed. Stella was perfect for me. I was searching rescues and ads and was approved through a rescue however the dog I was approved however the foster for the dog was farther then what I was told originally. My heart was broken because I could not immediately go out of town due to work and she was given to someone else. I jumped on FB and although I knew a fb ad could be taken w/a grain of salt , I saw a listing for Stella. Her original owner was putting her up for adoption because she was being attacked by their other dog. They brought her to meet me and she literally jumped in my arms. My older dog Orion gave her a kiss as if passing the torch and sadly died 3 days later. Stella and I survived a housefire together. We were separated for 6 months because I was in a coma and afterwords had a long road to recovery. I was so sad w/o her the hospital allowed my daughter to bring her to visit. We are both old ladies now. Unfortunately tragedy struck again when I lost my mother and sister. The depression is very hard and became unbearable for my son and he attempted suicide. My son is not working at the moment while we put his life back together. It is a financial burden for me however his life means more to me . He is getting the help he needs and making strides every day. His dog (Lucian) and Stella are very close however I know he gets on her nerves at times. He is the other dog in one of the pictures. My sister is disabled and after losing my mom she moved in with me. I have a very strict budget that I adhere to which is why I am asking for help. I keep up with her vet appts but this was unexpected. I am not surprised that scratch/ care credit did not work out for me as I went through a messy divorce and I’m working to clear my name financially. I know that she is aging but I want to fight for her life. I don’t have many things that make me smile at the moment but we are two peas in a pod. She is my best friend. All of my pets through the years have been rescues. I consider Stella to be a rescue as well because she was meant to be part of my family. I believe in paying it forward and I know that at some point I will be able to bless someone else.”
