Frankie’s Friends’ Crucial Care Fund helped Cooper receive surgery so he can walk without pain.
“I am a single mom and special education teacher seeking help for Cooper. Cooper is my Red Heeler / Australian Shepherd mix—and my protector, comfort, and family. I grew up facing significant mental health challenges, and in 2017 Cooper came into my life during a time when I needed safety, stability, and peace more than anything. For five years it was just Cooper and me before I had my daughter, and he has been an incredible, gentle, and protective presence for both of us. On Monday, while playing in the ocean, Cooper suffered a complete Cruciate Ligament (CCL) rupture in his left leg—the canine equivalent of a full ACL tear in humans. This injury will not heal on its own. He was in pain, struggling to walk, and surgery was the only option to relieve his pain and restore his quality of life. Watching him suffer has been heartbreaking. Cooper has always been there for us—now he needs help. Thank you for helping Cooper get the care he urgently needs.”
