Frankie’s Friends helped Stella receive toe amputation surgery.
“I am writing to you today with a heart full of hope, but also a great deal of humility. Our one-year-old Cane Corso, Stella, is the beating heart of our home. Recently, she suffered a severe accident with her tie-out that lacerated her hind paw. We immediately emptied our family savings to pay for her emergency surgery, but unfortunately, the attempt to save her fifth digit was unsuccessful. She now urgently needs an amputation to prevent a dangerous infection and finally live pain-free.
As a low-income family, we are completely devastated. We have no savings left, and we simply cannot afford this second procedure. While we do not have a lot of money, please know that Stella is our absolute priority. On a daily basis, she receives the highest standard of love, care, and attention. She is a cherished, irreplaceable member of our family.
Stella is only a year old, with a long, beautiful life ahead of her. She is one of my daughter’s very best friends, and we dream of watching our baby son grow up alongside her. Despite her large size, she is a gentle soul. Everyone who meets Stella—from our neighbors to the veterinary staff—comments on her wonderful, sweet temperament and immediately falls in love with her.
Receiving this grant from Frankie’s Friends would quite literally save Stella’s life. Because of her breed, we know that if we were forced to surrender her to a shelter due to our inability to pay for her medical care, she would face an incredibly high risk of being euthanized. We cannot bear the thought of losing her.
