Frankie’s Friends helped Gemma receive an urgent hip surgery.
“Thank you so very much for supporting Gemma and her journey to healing with the surgery she needs to live a pain free and long life. Gemma Raelynn is the sweetest little Coonhound pup. I fostered her for 4 months from the time she was 4 months old to about 7 months old when I decided that I couldn’t bear to part with her, so I officially adopted her in December. She’s always sat a little strange, but she’s always been lazy so I thought it was part of her laziness. It wasn’t until 2 weeks after I adopted her that she started struggling to go up ramps, stairs, and even run. Her back legs quivered. I took her to the vet and they did x-rays which determined she has severe hip dysplasia in both hips. The vet said it was in the top 3 worst cases they’ve ever seen and the worst case they’ve seen for a pup her age. Without this surgery, she would live a life in pain that would only get worse. I couldn’t afford the surgery due to being out of work from my own health condition. It means the world to me that there are grants like this to help dogs in need.”
