Mercer Walks Again

I wanted to thank Frankie's Friends for all of their help. My French bulldog, Mercer, suddenly lost the ability to use her back legs a few weeks ago. Her downward progression took hold quite rapidly. I brought her to BluePearl Veterinary Partners around 2 or 3 a.m., once I realized she wasn't getting better and feared that permanent paralysis would ensue.
Mercer, who was unable to walk, let alone stand on her own when I first brought her in, greeted me when I came to pick her up later the next day by running over. Within a few weeks, she was basically back to normal and it was as if nothing had happened at all.
Without Frankie's Friends, I would not have been able to afford her emergency medical care, nor the steroids and painkillers that her recovery required. Thank you for helping my dog walk again.

Snow, My Best Friend and Life Changer

I want to express my gratitude for the help that I was provided with. My dog Snow survived a car crash because of the help I was given. I was a very depressed guy before she came along into my life. Losing her would have been a devastating blow to me. I really want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my best friend. - Raylim

Erica and Cleo Say Thank You

I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU for supporting Cleo and myself in our journey.  I can't begin to tell you how much it means to us! Cleo was a rescue pup who came to me via Wag On Inn Rescue in 2007.  She and her brothers and sisters had been rescued from a kill-shelter in West Virginia, and brought to New Jersey.  When I saw the photo of her on the rescue website, it was literally love at first sight.  We have had a happy, peaceful home since then, where she has lived with me and two cats,  Sunshine and KC. KC is her best buddy!  The recent discovery of a lump on Cleo's hind leg was startling and scary, and was shortly diagnosed as cancer.  I could not imagine what life would look like without my baby Cleo, who sleeps right  beside me each night and is a constant companion.  Thanks to everyone at Frankie's Friends, Cleo and I can still expect to share many happy years together. With deepest Gratitude,

Erica and Cleo

Colette Recovers Well After Serious Surgery

Colette  and I want to thank you for all you've done. She's home now after radical mastectomy surgery, and I'm nursing back to health a kitty with amazing spirit. You've given her another chance and I will always be grateful. Sincerely, Carol

Draco Bites Off More Than He Can Chew

To the wonderful Dr. Laura Gibeon, other doctors and vet nurses at BluePearl Veterinary Partners and -- most of all -- Frankie's Friends, We, Draco and Jax (Draco's kitty brother) thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We would not have Draco back home and healthy if not for your foundation's support, skill and care. Over the years, Draco developed a habit of chewing his bed and recently actually eating the stuffing. When my pup wasn't himself, I took him to our regular vet and they highly recommended BluePearl Veterinary Partners to save Draco's life. While at BluePearl's hospital, we were met with amazing care and service. With the help of Frankie's Friends Kallee Varis Emergency Fund, Draco was able to get the treatment he needed. I cannot thank all of you enough for getting my Draco back to his healthy, happy self. I hope that Frankie's Friends continues to lend a helping hand to families and their furry friends.

Thank you so very much!

Draco, Jax and Loni

Barkley Finds Remission

As Barkley's owners and parents, we want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the generous help and support you have given. You have brought happiness to us and his brother Max for all the extra time and blessings we are able to share with him and for that we are eternally grateful. He's the greatest dog a person could have ever asked for and we have been absolutely blessed with him. Under Dr. Rocha's care he has gone into remission and is doing awesome. He loves to eat and eating is what he has done so very well. Thank you for your help and support and when I find a job and get on my feet I will donate as much as I could to Frankie's Friends forever. Sincerely, Barkley's Family

Mia says "Woof!"

Hi my name is Mia. I am a Yorkshire terrier, I weigh almost five pounds, and I would not be here today if it were not for the help of people who donate to Frankie's Friends. I stayed three days in the hospital and they treated me like a queen, thanks to the staff of BluePearl, especially Dr. Andrew Kyles, who was victorious in everything he did for me and my family. Thank you very much, from the deepest of my heart, God bless you all.

Taj is better

Samantha the beagle's story

Dear Frankie’s Friends, Samantha, our 10-year-old beagle who my wife & I rescued 9 years ago, became a happy-go-lucky pal who made us into our own little family. A few months ago we found a lump on her breast. After a CT scan we learned that Sam had cancer on her mammary gland in in her lung. Dr. Lachowicz at Blue Pearl felt that with surgery our little girl would be as good as new. That was great news until we we realized we could not afford the surgery. The thought of not being able to help Samantha because of our financial situation was heartbreaking. Dr. Lachowicz put us in touch with the staff at Frankie’s Friends, where we found our “Knights in Shining Armor.” Through the Zeus Varis Fund and the wonderful people at Blue Pearl, Samantha had her surgery.

We could never begin to thank EVERYONE enough for the help we received from this amazing charity. Thank you all who make this charity possible by supporting it either through donations or love for these wonderful animals. I would also like to recognize and thank Dr. Lachowicz for all of his support and concern for Samantha throughout this ordeal.

Forever grateful, Bernard & Christine [gallery link="file"]

More time with sweet Jeremy

To all the wonderful people at Frankie's Friends, Thank you so much for the gift of Jeremy's treatment. His diagnosis of intestinal cancer was devastating to me. Jeremy is sweet and loving, he enjoys being with his family.  I adopted him and his three sisters at one year old. Being their mom has been a wonderful experience that I wouldn't trade for all the stars in the sky.

Thanks to your foundation, and all of the wonderful people at BluePearl, I can continue to be his mother, care for him during this time and not worry about denying him much needed treatment. I am grateful and relieved! Thank you for making his surgery and subsequent treatment possible. Thank you for giving me more time with my baby.

Love, Jeremy, Blossom, Babboy, Pietro and Linda (Jeremy's mom)

Custos is truly a gift

To Dr. Myers, Dr. Ball, Dr. Birchard, Jessica, Heidi, Hannah, Danni and everyone else at BluePearl and Frankie’s Friends: My best friend is still here today thanks to you! Custos is truly a gift, he warms hearts and brings light and laughter with him everywhere he goes.

Through this experience I have learned that true hero’s don’t fly around in costumes saving the world…. They show up to work every day in scrubs or polo, taking care of those we love and saving lives. All of you have gone above and beyond for my boy, me and our little family and keeping it whole. There will come a day when I will have to say goodbye to one of the best friends I have ever had, but thanks to all of you - today isn’t that day.

There are no words to adequately convey just how grateful and thankful we are to you.

Sincerely, Jeremy, Custos and Cado

Elvis' family says "thank you!"

Dear Dr. Goldberg,

I can’t think of the appropriate words to thank you for everything you did for me and my beloved Chihuahua, Elvis. Thanks to your generosity and Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund, a portion of the financial burden vanished. I will be forever grateful for the outstanding medical care you and all of the staff at Blue Pearl provided Elvis, but I am especially thankful for the gift you arranged through Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund.

I recognize that funding is available only through donations and that in this economy, charities are faced with increased difficulty in meeting demand. I look forward to being able to make a donation to Frankie’s Friends Hope Fund in your honor as soon as I am able to do so.

With sincere gratitude,

Taylor Lawson and Elvis

"We cherish every extra day we have with our sweet Rosie!"

I want to say thank you to the Zeus Varis Fund of Frankies Friends. Our dog Rosie had such a rough start when we adopted her as a puppy, three years ago. She had very little hair due to a bad case of mange and was very sick. We nursed her back to health, then she grew into a strong, beautiful dog. Last month when we found out she had Lymphoma, we were told there was no way we could save her this time, we were devastated. Also, we just had our first child back in January, a baby girl named Julia, and money has been extremely tight. So we didn't think that costly treatments were even an option at that point. As we were about to give up hope, we heard about Blue Pearl and went in for a consultation. Dr Oberthaler told us about the Frankie's Friends. I am so thankful for your organization.

We were given the best gift of all, and that is for Rosie to be part of our family for longer than we thought. I will always have a huge place in my heart for everyone at The Zeus Varis Fund of Frankies Friends, and BluePearl. In the days since Rosie's first treatment she has been running, playing, swimming, and most importantly eating! We cherish every extra day we have with our sweet Rosie, and we can not thank you enough. The improvement in Rosie's health over the past few days and seeing her happy and back to her old self is priceless, this would not have been possible without the support from you.

It is hard to put into words how grateful we all are to be able to share some more time with our dog. Thank you so much for your help. Rosie's family June 2012

More happy and healthy years for Hunter!

Dear friends at the Zeus Varis fund, A big heartfelt thank you for your most generous support! I adopted my beagle Hunter, seven and a half years ago. With your support, Hunter will be able to receive the radiation therapy she needs, so that she and I can enjoy many more happy and healthy years together!

Sincerely, Hunter and the rest of the Itzhak family May 25, 2012

Olive by John Cannon

This portrait is of Olive.

If you are wondering why her eyes look unusual, it is because Olive was abused. Her eyes gouged out. She was also shot with pellets and was then left to die. Luckily, someone found her and brought her to a Veterinary hospital, another human at the hospital adopted Olive and got her treated back to life. Olive's new owner gave her a wonderful home and for four and a half years.

Mr. Cannon comments, "despite all she had been through, you can tell that Olive was happy with the humans who took her in and saved her. I am so proud that this was the first pet portrait I've painted through my partnership with Frankie's Friends. I am proud to have painted Olive and for the wonderful people who saved her."

Buddy by John Cannon

Buddy is John's companion, whom he lost three months ago.

Mr. Cannon explains, "I’ve got him filled in with the necessary lights and darks to get his shape. He had a lot of fur, so that is rather impressionistic, and does depict how he looked. He was a true canine angel, and I’ve tried my very best to capture a bit of his 'doganality.' I hope I’ve done him justice."

Buffy by John Cannon

This portrait is of Buffy.

John painted this pet portrait for a friend of Frankie's Friends.

Mr. Cannon explains, "This dog has been blessed with very nice owners. In fact, her owners have six dogs, she lives in a great home, she gets (and gives) a lot of love. This was a cute puppy pose of the little girl asleep, and I think I captured her sweetness. I love painting puppies (and cats, too)!"
